Tell the Hawaii State Legislature: Prioritize Hawaii’s Working People!

The Hawaii State Legislature has been in recess due to COVID-19. But on Monday, our state legislators returned to the Capitol to work on the state’s budget.

With over 230,000 unemployment claims filed since March because of mass layoffs from the pandemic, now is the time for our state legislators to step up. We need leaders who will prioritize Hawaii’s working people—not corporations and developers.

Tell our State Legislature that the state MUST do the following:

  1. Continue to fund unemployment
  2. Ensure healthcare coverage for the 230,000+ people who are currently unemployed
  3. Guarantee that workers who were laid off due to COVID-19 will get their jobs back
  4. Make COVID-19 testing for frontline workers and visitors a priority so that we can safely restart our economy
